Quiet Time Door Hangers!

To this day, one of the best projects I've created with my daughter has been our "Quiet Time" door hangers. They work like a charm! Personalized door hangers is a fun way to empower children to communicate when they need their own space (and parents, too!)
It's important to discuss the benefits of Quiet Time and to celebrate it! It can be used for their bedroom, playroom or their Special Space. Avoid using this desiginated time as punishment and try to always respect when a child chooses to use their Quiet Time door hanger.
Quiet Time Door Hangers allow children to:
Independently choose when they need to be alone with their thoughts
Recognize a time in which they want to relax outside of a designated schedule (nap, bedtime)
Build trust in the communication of placing their door hanger to indicate they need their space
Respect another's (parents, siblings) Quiet Time whenever they may choose to use their door hangers
Lastly, I fetl it was important to emphasize to my daughter in no way does Mommy Time mean that I do not want to be around her. I continue to communicate the importance of taking the time to rejuvenate in a peaceful place so we can always be our best Selves for one another. ("I love you" is always a reassuring reminder!)
