Creating a personal altar can be an empowering and intentional way to honor your child's unique Self. This dedicated space may be secular, seasonal, personal or used as an expression of faith. Regardless of what a child chooses to include on their altar, it is to serve as a comfort, a place of peace and celebration of the sentient soul.
Benefits:
Equips a child with the tools/ideas on how to create a safe space with familiar, special reminders. Here, a child can feel emotionally secure in an environment they helped construct.
Provides an opportunity for self-expression - to identify what is truly meaningful to your child.
Invigorates the energy throughout the home. The intent poured into the space's creation derrives from vibrations such as self-love, optimism, gratitude and happiness.
Acts as a reminder for your child to take time for themselves. To acknowledge the altar daily, whether with intent or in passing, is a reminder to nourish thoughts, tune in and experience gratitude with each breath.
Gathering and choosing items to include is sure to be a fun and inspiring activity! Suggestions may be (of course, never limited to): rocks, crystals, feathers, plants, photos, candles, drawings or figurines. This is a great activity to allow your child to construct their own little piece of the Universe!
Happy Creating,
